Moderation and Acceptable Use

What is not allowed on GrantTeam, and what happens if you do it.

Version 0.1 · last updated 2026-08-06

Draft. These documents describe how the platform actually works, but they have not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and some details - the legal entity, address, jurisdiction and contact address - are still placeholders. They will be finalised before GrantTeam accepts payments.

1. The principle

GrantTeam only works if the profiles are real, the requests are genuine and the applications are specific. Everything below follows from that.

2. What is not allowed

  • Publishing false, misleading or exaggerated information about your organisation, its capacity, its references or its verification status.
  • Impersonating another organisation or person, or claiming a profile you are not authorised to represent.
  • Extracting the organisation directory in bulk, whether by scraping, automated querying or manual copying, and building or selling a derived database.
  • Sending generic mass applications that are not written for the specific partner request.
  • Using contact details obtained on the platform for unrelated marketing, or passing them to third parties.
  • Circumventing access controls, paywalls, rate limits or masking of partner identity.
  • Probing, scanning or testing the security of the platform without our written permission.
  • Uploading malware, or content that is unlawful, defamatory, discriminatory or infringes someone's rights.
  • Publishing personal data about other people without a lawful basis.

3. How we enforce it

We apply rate limits to sensitive actions such as login, search, messaging and profile unlocking, and we monitor for unusual patterns. Unlocking a partner profile and administrative access are recorded.

We do not read private project content or messages as a matter of routine. We look at specific content only where we have a concrete reason — a report, a legal obligation or an active security incident — and that access is logged.

4. Reporting a problem

Report a suspicious profile, request or conversation using the report action where it appears, or write to [CONTACT EMAIL]. Tell us what you saw and where. We will look into it and, where appropriate, tell you the outcome.

5. Consequences

Depending on how serious and how deliberate a breach is, we may warn you, remove content, unpublish a profile or request, restrict features, suspend the account or close it. Serious cases such as fraud may be reported to the relevant authority.

Where we suspend or close a paid account for a breach, we are not obliged to refund the remaining period. You may respond to a decision and ask us to reconsider it.
